Shows a file existed no later than a recorded time
AI can fake your file. It can’t fake when the original existed.
TimeBinder®, based in Brisbane, Australia, seals your file’s SHA-256 fingerprint to the Bitcoin blockchain, recording a date it existed no later than. Change a single character or pixel and the fingerprint no longer matches. Watch it happen, then try it yourself.

Know exactly what your proof covers
Honest claims are the ones that hold up. Here’s precisely what a TimeBind shows, and what it doesn’t.
A TimeBind shows
- This exact file existed no later than the time recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain.
- The file still matches its fingerprint: altering a single byte gives a completely different fingerprint.
- Your contents stay private: only the fingerprint is recorded, never the file.
A TimeBind does not show
- Who created the file (authorship or ownership).
- That the contents are true or accurate, or whether something was made with AI.
- How it’s treated as evidence: a timestamp shows a file existed by a time; admissibility depends on the jurisdiction and the court.

Every TimeBind holds up to 10 files and includes a Proof of Time Certificate. Verification is always free, and there’s nothing to pay to keep your proof.

Your questions, answered
What is TimeBinder?
TimeBinder is a blockchain timestamping service. It shows that a digital file existed no later than a specific time, and that it still matches its fingerprint, by anchoring the file’s SHA-256 fingerprint to the Bitcoin blockchain. Files are hashed in your browser and never uploaded, and each TimeBind comes with a Proof of Time Certificate that can be checked later. It doesn’t show who created a file or that its contents are true.
Does TimeBinder detect AI fakes?
No, and we don’t pretend to. Detectors guess. A TimeBind shows what your original file was and that it existed by a recorded time. Any edited copy, made by AI or by hand, has a different fingerprint, so it can’t pass as your sealed original.
Is my file uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. Your file is fingerprinted on your own device and never uploaded or stored by TimeBinder. Only the hash, a short one-way SHA-256 fingerprint, is used for blockchain anchoring. Nobody can rebuild your file from it.
Will a TimeBind stand up as legal proof?
A Proof of Time Certificate is verifiable evidence that a specific file existed no later than the recorded time and still matches its fingerprint. It doesn’t show who created the file or that its contents are true. Whether it is accepted as evidence depends on the jurisdiction and the court, so get legal advice for your matter.
Do I need to understand Bitcoin or own any crypto?
No. You don’t need a wallet, coins or any technical knowledge. Use the free plan, or buy Tokens by credit or debit card. We handle the blockchain side for you.
What’s the difference between Pooled and ASAP?
Pooled TimeBinds combine many users’ fingerprints into one blockchain entry, usually recorded within 24 to 48 hours, and often sooner, depending on Bitcoin network activity, and are verified through TimeBinder. ASAP TimeBinds go into their own Bitcoin transaction, broadcast straight away, and can be verified independently even if TimeBinder’s website is offline.
What files can I TimeBind?
Any file type: audio, images, video, PDFs, drawings, code, spreadsheets and more. Each TimeBind holds up to 10 files, and the price doesn’t depend on file size or type.
