Timestamping for business: plans for firms that date their work every week
Clicking opens our plans and pricing page. Try it on the Free plan there. Files are hashed locally on your computer; nothing is uploaded or stored by TimeBinder.
Business plans give your firm one account, a monthly invoice and enough Tokens to timestamp quotes, contract versions, drawing sets and releases as they go out.
Your files never leave your computer. With TimeBinder®, each file is hashed locally on your own device. Nothing is uploaded or stored by TimeBinder.
Timestamping for business: the short answer
TimeBinder’s business plans are for firms that timestamp files every week: quotes, contract versions, drawing sets, client files and software releases. Business is USD $149 a month for 60 Tokens, about $2.48 a Token. Business Plus is USD $299 a month for 150 Tokens, about $1.99 a Token. Enterprise is custom. API access is included in the Business, Business Plus and Enterprise plans. One Token covers one Pooled TimeBind of up to 10 files. A TimeBind shows that each file existed no later than the recorded time, and that it still matches its fingerprint. Files are fingerprinted on your own computer and never uploaded. To start, email support@timebinder.io. We set up your firm’s account, send a monthly invoice and add your Tokens.

What is TimeBinder? TimeBinder is a blockchain timestamping service. It shows that a digital file existed no later than a specific time, and that it still matches its fingerprint, by anchoring the file’s SHA-256 fingerprint to the Bitcoin blockchain. Files are hashed in your browser and never uploaded, and each TimeBind comes with a Proof of Time Certificate that can be checked later. It does not prove who created a file or that its contents are true.
Why timestamping matters for a business
Most business disagreements aren’t about whether a document exists. They’re about which version was current on a given day: which quote the customer accepted, which drawing revision went to the builder, which draft of a contract the other side saw.
Your own systems can help, but the dates they hold come from your own computers and servers, and file dates are easy to change. A TimeBind gives each version a date recorded outside your systems, on the Bitcoin blockchain. Because files are fingerprinted on your own computer, client documents and project data stay with you.
Doing it as a routine is what makes it useful. A record made when the file goes out is far more helpful than one made after a question comes up.

Per-Token prices are each plan’s price divided by its Tokens. A paid plan replaces the Free plan’s monthly Token. Free, Essential and Expert are paid by card in the app; see TimeBinder pricing. For the maths on smaller plans, see which plan do I need?
Which plan fits how much you timestamp
- A few TimeBinds a month: the Free plan plus Tokens when you need them, or Essential.
- Up to about 36 Tokens a month: Expert ($50 for 15), with extra Tokens when you need them, usually costs less than Business.
- About 37 to 93 Tokens a month: Business costs less than Expert plus extra Tokens.
- About 94 Tokens a month or more: Business Plus.
- Custom limits or dedicated support: talk to us about Enterprise. Service terms for every plan are set out in the TimeBinder Terms and Conditions.
As a rough guide, a firm that sends 10 to 15 documents or sets a week will use around 43 to 65 Tokens a month.
Who business plans are for
- Small businesses and trades dating quotes, variations and condition photos: see timestamping for small businesses.
- Law firms, especially IP and commercial practices, dating client files and document versions: see timestamping for law firms.
- Design, architecture and engineering firms dating each drawing set they issue: see timestamping for design and engineering firms.
- Creative, advertising and marketing agencies dating pitch decks, concepts and campaign files before they’re presented: see timestamping for agencies.
- Software teams dating releases, with the Developer API: see source code timestamping.
- R&D teams and inventors dating lab notes and invention records: see invention records timestamping.
How to start a Business plan
- Try it first if you like. The Free plan is $0, with 1 Token a month and no credit card required.

What a TimeBind shows, and what it doesn’t
What it shows
- That this exact file existed no later than the time recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain
- That a file shown later still matches its fingerprint: the same file gives the same fingerprint, and any edit gives a different one
- A record kept outside your own systems: an ASAP TimeBind can be checked on the Bitcoin blockchain without relying on TimeBinder, and a Pooled TimeBind is verified through TimeBinder
What it doesn’t show
- Who created, wrote or signed the file
- That the contents are true or accurate, or whether AI was used
- That the file existed any earlier than the recorded time
- How a client, regulator, court or anyone else will treat it. That depends on the jurisdiction and the rules that apply. It isn’t legal advice
Pooled TimeBinds are verified through TimeBinder; ASAP TimeBinds can be verified independently from the certificate and the Bitcoin blockchain. Checking a TimeBind is always free.
When another option suits better
- You use fewer than about 37 Tokens a month. Expert plus extra Tokens costs less. Start there and move up later.
- You need signatures or proof that someone agreed. Use an e-signature platform. See a DocuSign certificate vs a timestamp.
- You need a timestamp from a time-stamping authority, for example inside a signed PDF. See RFC 3161 vs blockchain timestamps.
- You need to anchor very large volumes automatically, such as thousands of records a day. A service built only around an API may suit better. See TimeBinder vs OriginStamp.
- You need a registered right, such as a trade mark, design or patent. That comes from filing with IP Australia or the office in your country. A timestamp doesn’t register anything.
- You need somewhere to keep files. TimeBinder doesn’t store files, so keep using your document management system or cloud storage.
Timestamping for business: FAQ
How much do TimeBinder’s business plans cost?
Business is USD $149 a month for 60 Tokens, about $2.48 a Token. Business Plus is USD $299 a month for 150 Tokens, about $1.99 a Token. Enterprise is priced to suit. API access is included in the Business, Business Plus and Enterprise plans. Business plans are billed by a monthly invoice from TimeBinder.
What does one Token cover?
One Token pays for one Pooled TimeBind of up to 10 files. Pooled TimeBinds are usually recorded within 24 to 48 hours, and often sooner, depending on Bitcoin network activity. An ASAP TimeBind uses 3 Tokens. Checking a TimeBind is always free.
Is the Developer API included?
Yes. API access is included in the Business, Business Plus and Enterprise plans, and is set up for your account. Your systems send SHA-256 hashes, up to 10 in each request, and API TimeBinds use Tokens from the same balance at the same rates as the app. The API documentation is at api.timebinder.io.
Are our files uploaded to TimeBinder?
No. Each file’s fingerprint is calculated on your own computer, and the file itself never leaves it. TimeBinder records the fingerprint, not the file.
Can we choose who can check our certificates?
Yes. Verification can be public, by QR code, or restricted to email addresses you choose, such as a client or your own team.
How do we pay, and can we stop?
TimeBinder sends a monthly invoice in US dollars, and adds that month’s Tokens once it’s paid. Plans run month to month. To stop, email us before your next invoice.
